Join us for an informal studio tour hosted by Rachael Allen, September 27th 3pm – 5pm.
Her studio is at 7228 SE Sherman street Portland, OR (Go down the driveway and look for a sign with her name)
We expect to have a Zoom connection available for those unable to attend. Be patient, as these sometimes take a few minutes to get going. https://zoom.us/j/95758165361?pwd=FC7e1jtVaf5xNmUmazpBS7WsHXRhRs.1
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Rachael Allen has had a studio practice for over 3 decades, earning a BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2003. Her work brings together reclaimed materials with ceramics, hand-carved wood, concrete and steel, exploring the poetic resonance that emerges when materials meet.

Visit her website <rachaelallenart.com> You can also see her work at the upcoming 2026 Portland Open Studios in October (Studio #49 on the map) www.portlandopenstudios.com and at the Multnomah Arts Center in September 2027

Rachael is interested in form, texture, colors and materials that have been reclaimed; showing an imprint of history. She creates both human and animal forms and describes that a piece is finished when it vibrates with a sense of aliveness. Inspired by a love of whimsy!
