Apply now to the Pacific Northwest Sculptors Gathering of the Guilds Gallery

The Gathering of the Guilds is right around the corner!  This is Portland’s premier craft arts showcase and Pacific Northwest Sculptors Association will be participating for the first time ever.  The association is sponsoring a 300 square foot gallery space exclusively for members.  This is your chance to show your best work to the public, art patrons and the design community.

The show will run at the Portland Convention Center from Friday, April 25 to Sunday, April 27.  As a member, you can submit up to three pieces in your order of preference.  We expect to accept at least one piece per interested member.  Other pieces may be accepted based on available space and jury decision. Your gallery participation is independent of any booth participation during the show.  You pay a one-time gallery application fee of $35 for the first piece plus $25 per additional accepted piece.  The latter is due upon acceptance.

Begin your application by clicking on the link here:  https://forms.gle/TXHivKgvTK7T2im26. To facilitate your application:

  1. Have high quality jpeg images of each submitted piece (up to three) labeled first initial, last name and piece title. For example: jpg.
  2. Have the title, measurements, price and display needs (e.g. wall-mounted) for each piece.
  3. Rank order your pieces. The first will be accepted subject to size and community standards (whatever that means, but probably no bigger-than-life depictions of squirrel copulation, etc.).  Second and third piece acceptance will be based on space availability and jury selection. You will only pay for accepted pieces.

We will accept free standing, pedestal-based (pedestals supplied by PNWS) and wall-mounted work.  We encourage small to medium size work (use your judgement, but if it needs more than two people or a crane to move, it’s probably too big).  This is your chance to create an image of your work before a large audience. Consider submitting pieces that best represent your skill, artistic vision and typical pricing.   You should approach this as a branding opportunity and not a discount sales opportunity.

Gallery commission is 25%.  That commission can be reduced by up to 10% through your volunteer hours.  Contact sculpturebymarlena@gmail.com for more about volunteer opportunities.

Important dates to know:
