Crating and Shipping Warning

If you ship art to galleries or clients, avoid Pearl Packing. This is the worst art handling service imaginable! I hired Javier to pack and ship a sculpture to a gallery in Arizona. Fee $460. It arrived severely damaged. Every limb and joint was fractured or shattered. He assumed no responsibility beyond return shipping. Fedex refused the claim (insufficiently packaged). Seven months later, after countless excuses, delays, finger-pointing, etc., Javier sent a check for partial payment for repairs. He still has not reimbursed me for shipping. He now does not respond to email. Not once during this whole fiasco did he proactively volunteer information or solutions. This is not a professional service.
