Vancouver Arts and Music Festival is this weekend, August 7-9, 2026! PNWS will be showing up on Saturday and Sunday! Our mask making workshops on site have been filled, though there are other upcoming opportunities to make masks (see here: https://pnwsculptors.org/two-mask-making-opportunities-for-live-raku-demo/). We are excited to see our mask makers there and at other events!
If you’ve not been to VAMF before, it’s a fun experience held annually in Esther Short Park. Details about the other fun things going on can be found on the event website (https://www.vancouverartsandmusicfestival.com/). You’ll find a gallery, where some members have art on display, you’ll find vendors, food, and fun.
The highlight of what we have to offer at VAMF is our demonstrations. This is an opportunity for members to come out and share their skills and knowledge through hands on demos. Currently we have four demonstrators and one on-going, aforementioned workshop held by Russ Ford. Saturday morning starts with an armature demo by Chas Martin, along with examples of armature-based sculpture. If you come by Saturday early afternoon, Jessica Stroia will be demoing fruit carving. Some of you may remember her beautiful demo from last year (pictured above)!
