I am working with Saffron Fields Vineyards to alert artists to a pre-Memorial Day arts weekend (May 17 – 18). Saffron is a very artsy vineyard with a world-class in-house collection of sculpture, paintings and mixed media art. The tasting room sits surrounded by Hoichi Kerusu-designed gardens with a wonderful view towards vineyards and the coastal mountains.
During the event, Saffron would like to host both sculptors and other media in outdoor and indoor settings. The event will be free for participating artists other than a nominal processing fee if sold work is processed through their system. You are welcome to use your own payment system such as Venmo or Square and sell without commission. Artists will generally be expected to supply their own podiums or other appropriate display fixtures. Acceptance and placement of art will be solely at the discretion of the tasting room manager.
Saffron generally attracts a high-end clientele and the pre-Memorial Day is a time of heavy winery traffic in the valley. Still, based on my own experience, I would treat this opportunity as a chance for exposure to potential future buyers rather than an immediate sales opportunity.
