My focus is to take common, everyday, objects and make them subjects for a new narrative. Working with stone presents the challenge of the pulling out from what I see by taking away just enough while arguing with the craft required for good presentation.

My goal is to take common, everyday, objects and make them subjects for a new narrative. Many of the items were scraps and cast offs. With a focus on infusing character they are joined to take on new roles. These new roles bear little or no relationship to their initial purpose and are uncomfortable.

Formal study began in February of 1994 taking classes at the Pacific Northwest College of Art.  I took classes up through May of 2000 before embarking on my own.

Work in stone started 2013 with Alabaster.  Now have about 1,000 pounds of stone in the yard waiting to be worked and several pieces done.
