November and December are the busy season for many artists. Perhaps you’ve been busy too? Below is what member Teri Fahrendorf has been up to. Teri is a member of 4 guilds, of which Pacific Northwest Sculptors (guild #1) is her favorite. She’s met many lasting friendships here. If you are interested in deeper friendships within PNWS, Teri suggests you put the Spring Camp Out & Field Trip in your calendar now. Information and communications will start flowing about this trip in the new year, and you won’t want to be left out! Here is the current info on the May 30-June 1, 2025 trip to Price Sculpture Forest on Whidbey Island. More info here.
Last year’s trip, in early May 2024, about 20 of us camped along the Columbia Gorge and enjoyed a private tour of Maryhill Museum of Art. Everybody was assigned to a Meal Team, some were Team Captains, including a Parade Marshall and Fire Marshall. This is hands-down the best way to bond with and become good friends with your fellow PNWS members. (This year promises raging campfires as we’ve booked the Group Camp at Fort Ebey State Park!)
So, what has our member Teri been up to this holiday season? In October she had a booth with Oregon Potters Association (OPA) (guild #2) Fall Show at Cornell Nursery Farm. Also in October, Teri had a booth at ClayFest in Eugene, Oregon with Local Clay (guild #3). November brought a long drive to Clayfolk (guild #4) Holiday Show in Medford, Oregon for that show. And November always brings OPA (guild #2) downtown show, Ceramics Northwest, in Pioneer Place mall, lower level. You can find Teri’s functional and sculptural ceramic art there till December 24th.
In December, don’t miss Art At The Cave Gallery‘s holiday show, Small Wonders. Over 300 artworks by around 100 artists will be on display, all priced $15 to $150. Teri has twelve pieces in the show. You might catch her at the Cave’s Artist Talk on Saturday December 21 at 1 PM.
Photo of “See No Evil,” now showing at Ceramics Northwest show in Pioneer Place mall till December 24th or till sold. This piece was fired during our Pacific Northwest Sculptors (guild #1) raku firing demonstration at Art in the Pearl, annually on Labor Day weekend in NW Portland’s Park Blocks.
