View of the Whole

I created this PNWS “wheel” graphic to show the other Board Members my overview of our non-profit organization, with and Educational Mission. This my outline/overview of PNWS and it’s programs/priorities.
Coincidentally, I’ve described PNWS as a ship on a voyage, building community through art; this pie chart below is like the ship’s wheelhouse or the ship’s wheel itself. You, as a Member of PNWS, could grab to help steer your organization. If you want PNWS to fulfill your expectations, the PNWS Board is ready to work with you on that.
A ship’s propeller is another interpretation for this graphic. I think that’s appropriate and take it further, each of the listed areas are like propellers, each of these platforms for sharing yourself and your art are energized by your showing up to participate. These are the areas your PNWS Board of directors are maintaining as infrastructure, but they need to get turning by PNWS Member participation.

These are platforms to show and support your art, introducing you to other artists who are like you and unlike you. These are the meeting places to both learn and teach about our practices.  That could look like a sculpture presented or information shared a digital platform like our newsletter or website. You are recommended to find yourself somewhere(s) on this wheel, to contribute and reveal your art. Pacific Northwest Sculptors is about people connecting with people, community through art. It’s meant to be inclusive, no one left out. The prime example is the studio visit/potluck, these events are origin and mainstay of PNWS.

Please, check out the invite to Bulls Eye Glass and Manifestation July 18th 3pm (RSVP me about Bulls eye tour) <playpurpose@yahoo.com>

or the TWO August Studio tours (Augmented August!) Teri Fahrendorf Aug 17th AND Chayo Wilson Aug 21, 3pm.

As well as Vancouver Art & Music Fest(Aug2 – 4), or Art in the Pearl (Aug 31 – Sept 2) You can volunteer to help with these events (Contact me or Russ Ford <brussellford@gmail.com> or just show up. That could be a small thing with broad effect. It will mean something. When we get together for an event like this, what’s being shared is Meaning itself.

Hoping to see you and your art soon.
