Last year, PNW Sculptors partnered with Mt Hood Community College to demonstrate raku-fired ceramics at the Troutdale Arts Festival in Troutdale, Oregon.
This year we are back by popular demand! PNWS member extraordinaire Russ Ford and his partner in raku, Nathan LacQuaye, do a lot of heavy lifting – both literally and figuratively. Their delight in the process is infectious.
Mt Hood Community College students will again be providing some masks. PNWS members and friends can get involved by making masks in advance of the event on May 17th in Vancouver. We also need plenty of volunteers to help during the event.
On Sunday, June 8th there’s booth space available to share your expertise (and spread the word about your art!) by demoing your own sculpture process.
It’s a great way to engage and educate the public about sculpture while watching the magic of the raku process.
