Over 20 Pacific Northwest Sculptor members, a few friends and partners, and some sculptor members of Oregon Potters Association will arrive at Maryhill State Park on Friday May 3rd for a weekend full of art, campfires, and general merrymaking, and a view of the Columbia River. There is still time to sign up via this survey: Maryhill Trip Survey
Members will be assigned to a Breakfast or Dinner meal team, and you’ll only have to share in the prep and food responsibilities for that meal. The other three main meals you’ll kick back and let others do the cooking.
The fun starts Friday night with our first group dinner in Shelter #2, and continues with our first nightly campfire. After a delicious meal on Saturday morning, we’ll head to Maryhill Museum for our private Docent-Led Tour. Either bring your lunch or buy it at the Museum Cafe. If the weather’s good we can enjoy lunch on the terrace overlooking the mighty Columbia.
Saturday evening will bring us another fun group dinner, followed by a wonderful campfire. Sunday morning we’ll enjoy our last group meal together. Then those who are inclined or brought their International Sculpture Day costumes (see another post for costume-making day on April 13), we will gather at Maryhill’s Stonehenge monument for a respectful Sculpture Parade among the big cement “stones.” The you’re free to head home or visit nearby wineries, etc.
If you haven’t signed up via the above link, even if you are a “maybe” at this point, please sign up so our fearless trip leader, Teri Fahrendorf can keep a headcount.
