Since partnering on raku firing with Mount Hood Community College at the Troutdale Arts Festival, PNWS has been invited to engage with the college itself, touring the Visual Arts facility at their Gresham campus, on Friday November 22nd at 10:45 am. Our tour guide will be sculpture faculty, Nathan Orosco, who also runs the MHCC gallery. He has made it clear that PNWS could potentially have a show of our Member’s sculpture in their campus gallery.

Mount Hood Community college classes include sculpting in metal, wood, glass, ceramic, found objects, mixed media and digital technologies. Previous discussions with sculpture instructor Orosco focused on their capacity casting in aluminum, glass and bronze with the idea: PNWS Members could create a group show using these processes at MHCC.
The tour of MHCC Visual Arts buildings will be preceded by a brief PNWS Board meeting at 10am in building VA3. All are welcome to attend our Board meetings, with the understanding that Board Members have priority on the agenda. We’ll be discussing upcoming shows, digital media and the 2025 calendar for PNWS.
Contact Communications Chair, Bob Deasy, or PNWS Board President, Andy Kennedy for more information.
