Sculptors share knowledge and resources
I graduated with an Industrial Design(ID) degree from Los Angeles' Art Center College. Then I spent a few years using that education to create graphics, commercial devices, tools, and accessories. When ID became computer dominated, I changed careers to design and document computers and the programs they ran. After working a while at Microsoft I retired and began to try art forms I'd missed in ID employment - water and pastel painting, figure drawing, ceramics... and glass.
I found affection for, and am ever-developing skills in 'glass country,' the Pacific Northwest. I most enjoy developing works in cast glass.
I am excited by the processes involved in glasswork.
I get to design, and calculate, and build, and carve, and shape. I get to play with paper, and clay, and wood, and wax, and plaster, and sand... and FIRE. What more could a boy want?
Beauty.
I do that too.
