I am a retired high school teacher of 37 years. My BA and MA degrees were in Industrial Arts Education with an Art minor from San Francisco and San Diego State Universities. I spent 31 years mostly teaching woodworking and art at Orange Glen HS in Escondido, CA following 6 years at Banning High in Banning, CA. My students were primarily taught to work with their hands using hand, portable and stationary power tools in a safe manner. I never had a student lose a finger! Students made projects from hand-gouged bowls to furniture. In the 6 years leading up to my retirement and upon moving to Wallowa County, Oregon* in 1997, I have pursued my artistic passions including sculpture/carving, photography, and acrylic painting on Barn-stall Slabs.
