For me art is an exploration of awe and endurance.
Clay's expressive geology is at the core of my practice,
with stone, steel and calligraphy also part of the story.

My could be summed up as Grace under Pressure, but also finding grace in unexpected places. In the raw surfaces of clay, oxidized steel or worn wood. These materials and their formation lend support to the psychology of my portraits, and the composition of my abstract forms. Characteristics of endurance and fluidity are present in the mediums and in their crafting. I am always watchful for how the form I'm crafting is changing my experience.

A catalog of my sculpture and documentations of fluid dynamics can be seen at my website < Andything.com >  and social media <andyofclay@instagram.com>

An understanding of fluid structures has had a broad effect on both my technical abilities with clay and glazes, but also the psychological content of the clay portraits. It may be that personalities and emotional states are fields of pattern within a context of resonance that resemble the Hele-Shaw forms.
