PNWS “meetings” are meant to be different, a variety of ways for sculptors and the community that supports sculpture to connect and express all our mediums.
Some of meetings have an agenda: showing art, technique or exploring a medium.
These meetings may be directed, or self-lead.
We also have informal gatherings like the monthly “Sculpture Conversation” using Zoom online.
This could be your introduction to PNWS, if you are in a remote area.
If you can make it to the Portland metropolitan area, studio tours are a really good choice introduction as a new Member of PNWS.
These are informal potluck gatherings. You will could learn something new, but you will certainly meet someone new.
My personal favorite are Studio Gatherings that include hands-on materials: mixed media wearable art, clay masks for raku firing, and in the planning stages, metal casting, which may lead to a PNWS group show at the Mount Hood Community College.
We have also monthly Board of Directors meetings, facing ever changing challenges and planning for our group’s future.
PNWS is a peer group with an ethos of mutual respect.
I hope to see you soon at any of our meetings, and hear about your art.
