RACC MLB Grant Submitted for Funding
by Alisa Looney, DEI Committee Chair
PNWS recently applied for a Make/LEARN/Build Grant from RACC, to fund board training in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. We will find out if we receive the grant on March 31, 2022.
If funded, our board and key members will train with Nicole Lee Consulting (NLC) and their partner organization, Inclusive Life (IL), combining group training and deeper course work, beginning in April.
We are committed to getting this training so we can create a more welcoming space for BIPOC and under-represented sculptors. We are a peer group of sculptors, who have a wealth of knowledge, resources and show opportunities and would like to collaborate with artists and orgs from diverse traditions to create a more cohesive community full of richness and possibility.
This DEI training will lay the ground work for developing long lasting partnerships with BIPOC artists, arts communities, schools and arts organizations. Creating diverse partnerships will create momentum and enrich lives, where all are honored and mutually supported.
