My art includes ceramic sculpture, sculpting with aerated cement, and assemblage. I am a 34 year retiree of the US Forest Service who finally let the artist within out to play with great teachers and great fellow artists in PNWS.
Movement, nature, and play are the key to my artwork. I love creating art that transcends the clay or cement I work with and invites the observer to imagine themselves traveling through the curves and climbs.
I was born in Baltimore. My family moved to just outside of New York in Connecticut, and then just outside of Chicago in Lake Forest. After college I moved to San Francisco, and then started a 34 year Forest Service career that took me to Eureka, California; McCall, Idaho; Washington, DC; Portland, OR; Milwaukee, WI; and finally back to Portland. I am the second oldest of 10 children, all born in a 13 year span, no multiple births. I have a husband and 2 sons of my own, plus two young grandchildren. These are the major life events and key people who color my art.
