Teri Fahrendorf, PNWS clay artist who also organized our Maryhill museum campout, has an incredible home/studio/yard with her husband Jon Graber in St. Johns: 6625 N Amherst St. Portland, OR
The “Pizza Piazza” ( left ) and Raindragon studio ( right ) are just two views, of the fantasy labyrinth experience at Teri Fahrendorf and husband, Jon Graber’s place. Please begin by walking up the center of the driveway to the backyard. You’ll see the pop-up canopy and giant ice block in the driveway just beyond the two vans. Put your potluck item in the shade on the patio, and start exploring the double yard. The “auxiliary” backyard is accessible either through Teri’s ceramic studio, or via the path around the back of the Finnish Sauna.
Jon will start his ice carving demo when the ice is attemperated to the right temperature and consistency. Everybody on site will be given notice to come watch. The demonstration will probably take a little longer than one hour.
We’ll eat and enjoy the space some more after the ice demo. Teri will give studio tours after we eat, but you are welcome to take a look first. If your items need to be kept cold, please bring them in a cooler, as the weather will probably be hot and sunny.
