Alisa Looney will be exhibiting two enamel works in The Enamelist Society 2024 Biennial International Juried Exhibition “Alchemy 7”. This exhibition is intended to highlight the best in contemporary enamels, showcasing the work of enamelists that demonstrate aesthetic and technical expertise.
Three esteemed Jurors: Ruth Ball, Cynthia Eid, and Sarah Loch-Test curated 98 pieces by 69 artists being represented in the International Bienniel exhibition at the Brad Cushman Gallery, Windgate Center of Art + Design at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, AR, July 22 – September 6, 2024.

WISE ONE, part of the the INTERDEPENDENCE reEnamelware series, is a detailed rendering of a Great Horned Owl, with its chest feathers depicted as a forest, under crescent moon and sky. The purpose of this work is to inspire the connection and care of our planet and each other, by bringing attention to the interdependence of all living things and the healthy ecosystems that we all depend.

Elation!! celebrates the joy and aliveness we feel when we are in nature, dancing freely, and connecting to our inner child. This enamel on steel wall relief, portrays three women expressing and sending their beautiful energy out into the world.
“Alchemy” is a term that refers to a seemingly magical power of transmutation as well as the ancient chemical philosophy of turning base metal into gold or silver, can apply to enamel as it is magically transformed by heat.
Alchemy7 is the 19th Biennial International Juried Enamel Exhibition and 15th International Juried Student Enamel Exhibition, sponsored by The Enamelist Society. The Exhibitions highlights the best in contemporary enamels, and pieces produced in the last 2 years. The International Juried Exhibition showcases the work of enamelists that demonstrate aesthetic and technical expertise.
