In a quiet oasis in Battleground on a hot summer day, both the bellies and creative spirits of our members were well fed during our August member meeting. Our host, ceramic artist Linda Kliewer, shared her home, her botanical garden, her studio, and some unusual pets.
Linda had remodeled her studio to include a gallery of her work, and it was there that we enjoyed an impromptu and delightful brainstorming session on a new project she has just begun — Brainstorming is one of the biggest benefits of studio visits for the host. Linda had done the historical research and concept development, and we all bounced ideas off of each other for what might be next. Linda also graciously answered questions about the pieces on display in her gallery.
Another bonus of the trip was a sneak peak at Linda’s entry for the upcoming “Coalescence” Art at the Cave show, a piece on which she collaborated with a photographer and a fiber artist.
