Craig D. engineers light into motion. His custom-coded LED sculptures transform static images into fluid geometries, pulsing like data streams and glowing like digital sunsets. Equal parts precision engineering and sensory poetry, his work is where technology becomes pure experience.
Craig’s latest commission brings his luminous vision to the heart of Oakland, California. To be suspended within the overhead canopy of a new mixed-use property, seven circular light sculptures will glow in unison—each a portal of shifting color and motion. Echoing his signature explorations of natural subjects and rhythms, the installation will transform the canopy into a living sky, inviting passersby to pause, look up, and step into a shared moment of wonder.
Before it lights up the streets of Oakland, Craig’s newest large-scale commission is taking shape in his studio—and you’re invited to see it in progress. Step inside to experience these circular light sculptures as they come to life. This is a chance to see the process behind a public artwork before it leaves the studio.
