In August, Bill Leigh passed away peacefully at his home, supported by friends and family. A member of PNWS since 2015 and a recent board member, Bill will be dearly missed.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, September 14th at his home from 2 – 5 p.m.
Words seem inadequate for the gifts Bill shared with the world. Here are some glimpses of Bill, courtesy of his website.
Artist Statement:
I do not have a favorite anything. Shapes need to be organic to excite me. A sense of reverence is important. A wry sense of humor is fun also. Weightlessness and an ease of motion define my kinetic sculptures. As I stare out the window, I see two things I made. I like the soft curve of the arch. I like the way the kinetic sculpture catches the slightest breeze. My tendency is to make things that I can use or that communicate a thought or emotion.
It was great having Bill at our annual wine club dinner a year ago where he showed a couple of his pieces. Rest in peace Mr. Leigh.
