The Spark Award for Oregon Artists

The James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation announces the new Spark Award for Oregon Artists, a pilot program that will provide direct support to 60 artists across artistic disciplines who are at a midpoint of their career.

What to know

  • Applications are due by 5:00 PM on October 2, 2024.
  • The Miller Foundation will grant $25,000 to each artist selected, who will be able to determine how to use the funds.
  • Each year the program will support artists in a different discipline. (In 2024 the focus is the performing arts.)
  • Applicants should be at least 30 years old with 7+ years of a sustained art practice, creating and presenting new work to audiences, and an Oregon resident for the last 5 years.

The foundation offers extensive assistance for the application process. You can view a recording of the Info Session; access 1:1 Spark Support on September 17 and 18; attend an Open Support Session on September 25; or request assistance with translation, interpretation, or other needs required in completing the application.

Find out more details on the Miller Foundation website and http://tiny.cc/y64ezz (PDF with program details)
