My name is Laurie and I'm based in Oregon. As a sculptor, I'm inspired by found art and the whimsical beauty of everyday objects. My sculptures are mostly figurative.  The series of laying chickens are interactive. Several lay eggs by turning a crank embedded in the body .  One of the others just requires a push on its back and out drops an egg.  I want my art to capture the joy of childhood and invoke moments of lighthearted laughter. My work combines the repurposed materials I find with playful connections between objects. I hope it helps us to regain a sense of playfulness and nostalgia, inviting us to remember and savor the moments that pass all too quickly.
