Changes Afoot at PNWS

From Andy Kennedy, outgoing president
After serving on the PNWS Board for six straight years, I’ve reached the term limit. Even before those six years I was helping to manage our storage unit, demonstrating sculpture practices at our public events, assisting with group shows, and attending PNWS Board meetings many times before becoming a Board member.
This growing involvement and increased commitment to our group has been organic, magical, fun and empowering. I’m a better person now for taking on PNWS responsibilities, and learning to trust others with PNWS leadership.
And it’s exciting to consider, What could possibly happen next?
My best to you all as we continue to build this beautiful sculpture together.

From Leslie Crist, incoming president
On January 18, I had the honor of being voted president of PNWS by the Board of Directors. It was a refreshingly simple election – no hanging chads, no vitriol – just an outpouring of unanimous support for myself and two new board members, Sherry Wagner and McAlistair Merchant.
On February 15 at our Annual Meeting, members will have a chance to learn more about board changes, meet the new board members and take part in the formal vote of confirmation – either in person or via Zoom.
If you are interested in joining the board too, there is still time to throw your hat in the ring. Reach out to any board member or contact me at president@pnwsculptors.org.
For awhile now the board and a few key volunteers have done the lion’s share of work needed to bring us amazing monthly gatherings and zoom conversations, public art demo opportunities, and new venues for showcasing our work.
My fervent hope over the next two years is to better understand what members are passionate about, how they want to contribute, and how we can better live up to our mission.
Please make your voice heard by filling out the member survey between now
and March 1, 2025
I look forward to serving PNWS and the sculpting community!
