Pacific Northwest Sculptors Member, Jim Stewart has mastered the art of Japanese bronze and iron casting, after spending decades in Japan, and graduating from the National University of Fine Art in Tokyo.
Worth mentioning: Jim is hoping to recruit Apprentice(s) to learn Iron and Bronze casting technique and create original artwork.

Jim has invited PNWS to visit his home and workshop in Aurora, OR this April 18th at 3pm for potluck, studio tour and a discussion about recruiting folks to help him complete his foundry, make the molds and pour the metal, using traditional Japanese techniques which he mastered after living for decades in Japan, and he wants to pass his knowledge onto another generation.

Sometimes it takes someone else asking a question, that brings a thought to mind. A student has to show up, for a teacher to share their wisdom. We don’t know what we know, and maybe we don’t know what we are, until we’re asked to show up and share ourselves.
