Art in the Pearl 2024

Once again, PNWS will have a presence at Portland’s premiere summer art festival in the Pearl blocks in downtown Portland. The three-day festival runs Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Labor Day), August 31, September 1 & 2nd.

Festival Favorite Returns to the Pearl District

This show is a juried event with artists and craftspeople from everywhere with something in nearly every booth worthy of attention. It has been rated in the top 10 of all arts festivals in the country. All laid out under the shade of big trees in a festive atmosphere.

Our PNWS demo booth will be located on the Northwest end of the festival along with demonstration booths from other guilds. We will have volunteer members showing their work and exhibiting skills and techniques in our booth all three days. There are still slots to be filled by members who want to get their work out in front of the crowds and make contact. Look over the schedule at this link and sign up to participate and get ready to have some fun alongside fellow members. 2024 Art in the Pearl Google Docs

The festival has strict rules that any demonstrators may not make sales at the event, but you can (and should) bring contact info for anyone who would like to contact you outside this venue.

Alongside the PNWS demo booth, Russ Ford and Nathan Lac Quaye and any volunteer assistants who sign up, will be doing Raku firing on Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 4. We will have a glazing table set up and ceramic work that has been created from previous PNWS workshops will be available to participants. If you have created a mask and plan to attend and fire during those times, you can contact Russ at brussellford@gmail.com to assure your mask will be available. Plan to stop by the booth when you arrive, glaze your mask and get a sense of how long you may have to wait before your artwork will be ready to fire. Touring the show while your work is in the queue is recommended.
