Members are signing up for two four-hour time slots at the PNWS demonstration tables at this year’s Art in the Pearl event over the Labor Day weekend. This is a great way to put a public face on our organization, showcase your artwork, get to know members, share your skills or promote educational opportunities (lots of folks ask about classes and we will be glad to display any info on teaching you may have.). Contact me if you would like to plug into one of the time slots. Demo times start at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Sept. 2,3 and 4th) and end at 6 p.m. Saturday & Sunday and 4 p.m. on Monday.
In addition to the member demos, we will be firing pre-made masks in a portable Raku kiln starting at noon on Saturday and Sunday. All PNWS members are invited to a maskmaking “party” on August 26th starting at noon at my studio at 610 E. 19th st. Vancouver, a week ahead of the AIP. event, so we can generate masks for the demonstration. RSVP at my gmail address if you can commit to mask-making and the follow-up firing on Saturday or Sunday at noon at Art in the Pearl. A $20. donation will cover the cost of clay, gas and glaze.
