Golem Sculpture Making Workshop

Member Teri Fahrendorf, in collaboration with Leikam Brewing Company, is happy to present her first Clay Sculpture Workshop in Leikam’s beautiful Community Room. We will be sculpting a small Golem; a protector-monster from Jewish folklore. What’s a Golem? Check out this link: https://www.grunge.com/459452/the-history-of-the-golem-explained/

This hands-on, skill-building workshop will take place on Sunday November 16, 2025, from 3:30-6:00 PM. All tools and clay will be supplied. You will create your own Golem figure from stoneware clay. I will then bring the still-wet sculptures to my studio, where I will slowly dry, fire, stain, then fire them again in my ceramic kiln.

Completed Golems will be on show to the public at the Student Artist Reception at Leikam Brewery on Saturday December 13, 2025, from 4:00-5:00 PM. Students will take their Golems home at 5:00 PM that day.

Cost is $80 and covers everything including two beer tickets. Beverage substitutions available for abstainers, and others who don’t drink beer. A slight upcharge may be necessary for cocktails, etc.

To register, please see https://raindragonstudio.square.site/ or https://square.link/u/XjgyqasH. For questions, please email teri@raindragonstudio.com.

Photo of just-made Golem prototype, prior to kilning or staining. Should turn out handsome!
