PNWS is now formally adopting pop-ups. While regular monthly meetings and pot lucks will be on the 3rd Saturday of each month (mark your calendars!), members are now free to host and attend pop-ups. If you are a host, send a quick notice to Bob Deasy by the first of the month and your notice will appear in the monthly newsletter. If you are an attendee, you can just show up unless the notice includes a request for an RSVP.
Haven’t we already done this? Well, yes. Teri F hosted a series of pop-ups last year for anyone who wanted to watch instructional ceramics videos with her. Some have offered small gatherings for artists who work in a particular media. And many fondly remember the pandemic movie night.
By putting the process in place we hope to ensure that invitations reach everyone interested, that ideas will bubble up everywhere, that we will have a record of all of the good get togethers happening, and finally, that there will be a clear delineation between “everyone please come” monthly meetings (yes, on the 3rd Saturday) and “join us if you like” pop-ups.
Fabulous! I’m hoping to put together a movie night later this summer to share “Holy Frit!”, a documentary about making the world’s largest stained glass window. Let me know if you’re interested. Thanks for getting the ball rolling with this, Sherry!
