Jennifer Corio & I are a husband and wife artist team who create sculptures for public settings using a wide variety of metals, fabrication techniques, and finishes. We aspires to lift spirits and brighten the world through art. We act on this vision by turning metal into graceful, dynamic forms and finishing them with vibrant colors that add pop and levity to their surroundings. Their art has been described as playfully sophisticated and is appreciated by both children and adults alike. We have been creating public art together for 12 years after careers in the high-tech industry. Jennifer and I officially merged their skills in 2008 when they launched our artistic metal work company Cobalt Designworks in Vancouver, Washington. Our portfolio consists of many outdoor sculptures throughout the Pacific Northwest, some of which have become iconic pieces that evoke a sense of a place and have become distinctive landmarks for communities. In our artistic partnership, Jennifer provides artistic vision and design while I use my craftsmanship to bring her concepts to life in my metal shop. Jennifer’s design style can be described as a balanced union of bold forms, clean lines, and flowing curves. High craftsmanship is guiding principle. I have 40+ years’ experience in both engineering and fabrication, enabling me to plan and execute the technical aspects of Jennifer’s designs and build for strength, durability, and ease of installation
